And I am pretty excited to be reviewing the Voopoo Drag X Mod Pod (after I did the Drag S Mod Pod last week).

As well as The line between what is a Pod, Pod Mod or Mod kit seems to get more blurry with every week that passes. With the launch of the Voopoo DRAG Pod Mods that line has never been so blurred; between Pod Mods and Mod Kits.

But In the history of vaping, vape pens came first closely followed by vape mods, then a couple of years ago pod vapes came out again and last

Further Pods originally took the place of the original pen styled, mouth to lung, vapes. Pods took the vape industry by storm. Then last year, came the pod mods, as the name suggests, pods mods are mods that use a pod instead of a tank.

But In 2017 Voopoo partnered with Gene Co to develop exclusive chips. It was soon after that Voopoo launched the very popular 157w DRAG Mod. The rest is history and Voopoo has just gone from strength o strength.

Because The Drag Pod Mods aren’t the first Pod Mods from Voopoo. In fact they have an entire Series of ‘Mod Pods’. The Vinci Series consists of 4 Mod Pods and 1 pod, these pod mods include the very popular Vinci Mod Pod and the recently released Vinci X Mod Pod.

 

What Can We Expect From the Voopoo DRAG X?

After reviewing the DRAG S, I have pretty high expectations.

And I expect all Pod Mods to be simple to use, the Drag X is no exception.

It fires up to a generous 80W and takes a 18650 battery. It also takes 2A charging via its USB-C Port.

However If we’re looking for something different and innovative the DRAG X should be able to provide just that. The adjustable airflow on the Drag Pod Mods is the best and most advanced adjustable airflow I’ve seen on any Pod Mod to date.

And The kit also has a “score ranking mode”.

Voopoo’s exclusive chips are always a focus point.

It’s evidently bigger than the DRAG S – in more ways than one, but let’s see if bigger really does mean better.

Design and Build Quality

And The kit comes in 7 different styles:

Classic, Carbon Fibber, Retro, Mashup, Chestnut, Marsala and Galaxy Blue. – I have the Retro.

Voopoo DRAG X Mod

The leather section makes the device look rather a lot like it belongs to the Aegis range, especially the Geekvape Aegis pod kit Again and last

The buttons on the mod are quite typical for Voopoo, there is a fire, up and buttons, all of which are round and the fire button is slightly indented, to comfortably accommodate the thumb or finger.

Between the buttons is the 0.96” TFT screen and below the buttons sits the USB-C Port.

But On the back of the devices, sits a small handle to alter the airflow. The airflow is formed by two slits, one at either side of the mod.

Drag X Pod Kit:

The shape and size looks great but more importantly it fits the hand nicely too.

But Flat at the front and round at the back, it looks like it may only fit comfortably in the hand one way. However, it’s quite comfortable regardless of which way round you hold it.

It looks elegant and stylish, in a unique way that it will suit almost anybody, irrespective of their age. If your 18 or 88, I’m sure you will agree, there is a very classy and trendy sense to this device.

Because In regards to durability, I have no concerns. The bottom of the device has rubber feet, to keep it from touching down.  The device in general feels quite strong and study.

But If I had any concerns about the durability of the device, it would be for the fire button. Purely because the great and durable DRAG mods have been know to have a faulty fire button after years ( some times months) of constant use, they simply wear out internally.

However, this DRAG X is more compact and I feel pretty confident that the button will stand the test of time for most users.

Because The battery port, quite typically, opens from the bottom. The door has a latch on either side, the latches are pretty standard size, if not a little bit bigger.

On dual battery mods, I usually steer away from this type of battery door system. The fact is battery ports are spring loaded and with 2 batteries the door slowly bends over time and looses connection.

However this is only a single 18650 and I’m pretty content that it will be durable enough.
